About Us

Established since 1984 this family owned and operated restaurant continues to nourish the Southern California families with the Lebanese cultural tradition of a healthy natural diet in a very intimate atmosphere. Located in the heart of the San Fernando Valley  on Woodman Ave. in Sherman Oaks, California, our chefs are constantly cooking either for daily consumption or catering for a celebration.

On a daily basis attending to the preparation for home cooked meals, the freshest produce from farmers market (Hisba) and the freshest lamb, beef and chicken are purchased. Most of the other assortments are purchased except the pickled turnips are home made.

The assortment and combinations of food are distinct and most of the time include garlic, olive oil, herbs, spices (ground cloves, ground kuzbara, coriander, black pepper, ground cinnamon, paprika, ground allspice, cumoon, and curkadom) and the freshest of ingredients.

Whether it's, lunch or dinner a feast would not be an exaggeration when describing the spread of any Carnival Restaurant hearty meals. Humos (mashed chick peas in sesame oil), Fool (beans), Labneh (yogurt), Stuffed Grape Leaves, Eggplant, Lentil Soup, Shawarma beef/chicken, Falafel sandwiches and Arabic/Tabouli salads are the Lebanese rendition of fast food.

Kafta (ground beef) with potatoes, and our daily specials, Molukia, Sheik Mehshi, Stuffed Chicken, Lamb Shanks, Shish-kabab (beef and/or chicken), skewered Lamb Cubes grilled with onions and tomatoes are just a few of the delicious Lebanese dishes that are worth mentioning.

Desserts and sweets especially the Baklava, Knafeh, Nammoura, Ashtalia pudding are all traditionally are served with a good strong cup of Arabic coffee.

The end results of these dishes take on a meaning of pride in a rich heritage and an artful cooking skill that traditionally every family must master only at home. You can certainly be assured that the chefs and servers at Carnival Restaurant continue this tradition of home cooking excellence to delight your appetite and make you feel at home.
